Only requires a Normal playthrough. Achievement pops after baal kill. Get a squad to protect and compliment everyone or a high level person to carry you if you want to cheese it. If playing solo just pick a class with good low level strengths (summon necro, trap assassin, barb, holy fire/freeze paladin, etc). Invest more into resists, defense, vitality and block than you otherwise would and go slow. Repeat areas to over level yourself before trying to move on. Once you hit level 20 for ancients you can complete baal quest – again, easiest if someone rushing. If you are walking you should be above level 16 after completing act 2. Replay tombs until you hit 24 and continue on the rest of the game. Should get you close to 30 by the time you fight baal and strong enough to win.

For this trophy, you just need to beat normal mode of Diablo 2 with a hardcore character.

Note – The safest class to do this on is a paladin using hammers.

Tips for playing hardcore mode through normal:

• Play everything safe (you only have 1 life to live).
• Make sure to constantly be moving away from dangerous attacks, poison clouds, lightning shocks, fireblasts, and everything else.
• Stack as much resistances as you can.
• Prioritize defense and resistances before damage and weapons (the main goal here is to survive).
• ONLY proceed to the next area when you are over-leveled and over-powerful to make the next zone easier to complete (do this for each act).
• Use your potions and carry a stock of them.
• Use antidote potions for poison.
• Use thawing potions for frozen make sure to get the skill point and stat point quests an finish those for an added boost.
