2. Atlas Passive Tree

As you complete the Maven’s Challenges, you’ll earn a new type of passive skill point that can be allocated on a special passive skill tree in that region of the Atlas of Worlds.

2.1 Each region has its own fixed tree

Each of the Atlas’ regions has its own passive tree, and they generally have around 20 nodes to choose from. You can earn up to a total of 10 skill points per Atlas region.

Each Atlas tree is unique. However, some mechanics appear in multiple regions’ trees.

2.2 Unlock All Atlas regions

Take control of your Atlas by unlocking regional passive trees which augment the content you encounter and rewards you receive while exploring those regions.

Awakener Level 8 is a good estimate for when you will be able to unlock all passives in all regions. You will be able to unlock a full region tree for a single region well before that.

2.3 Atlas respec points

There are also an Orb for Atlas respec points and this Orb is not region-specific. This Orb will drop randomly, but there are also more deterministic methods of obtaining them which you may discover while playing.

How often you want to change your passives is up to the player and what they determine to be profitable.

2.4 Spawn Rate

The mechanics modified by Atlas Passive Trees still spawn randomly in any map, at the same rates as they previously did.

2.5 Zana mods

Zana’s map device crafting options work as they always have.

2.6 For new players

The craftable Watchstones are optional content that do not lock your progression and are introduced well into the endgame. Players that want to maximise their Watchstone bonuses will have a reasonable understanding of the mechanic by the time craftable variants are introduced. Both Atlas Passive Trees and craftable Watchstones are also permanent features that do not require continual upkeep or time investment.

3. Lex Proxima region example

Now let’s have a look at the Atlas passive choices available in the Lex Proxima region.

The Harvest branch can increase your chances of finding a Sacred Grove, increase its crafting rewards, and make it more likely that you’ll encounter Oshabi.

The Delve branch can increase your sulphite gains, grant more master favour and grant more Niko master missions. The Sulphite Infusion notable passive grants Sulphite for defeating Map Bosses, regardless of whether the area has Niko present. This means that you’ll be constantly gaining Sulphite for every map you do in the region, which is a great strategy if you’re not already using Sulphite Scarabs aggressively.
