Ah, the Elder Guardian Map Compass! This handy little tool can be a great way to target specific Elder Guardians while running maps. Here’s the rundown:
What it does:
Uses a single Elder Guardian fragment to increase the chance of that Guardian dropping a map of the same type in the next map you run.
There are separate compasses for each Elder Guardian: Shaper of Storms, Minotaur, Hydra, and Chimera.
Note: The compass does not guarantee a Guardian map drop, just boosts the odds.
How to use it:
Right-click the compass in your inventory to consume it and activate the effect.
Run any map.
The increased chance of the specific Guardian map drop applies to the next map only.
Things to consider:
The effectiveness of the compass depends on your Atlas Passive Tree choices. The "Synaptic Impulses," "Vivid Memories," and "Neural Pathways" nodes specifically increase the chance of Elder Guardian map drops.
Using certain Sextant modifiers can further boost Guardian map drop odds.
The Wandering Path compass nerfs have affected duplicating Guardian maps through the Atlas tree. It’s less efficient now, but still possible.
Consider the cost of the compass versus the value of the Guardian map you’re targeting. It’s not always a guaranteed profit.
