Low Life

Low life is a condition that applies when life is at 50% or lower. Linking mana-reserving skills (such as auras) to Arrogance Support which converts them into Life-reserving skills is one of the easiest way to maintain the low life condition.

Players that use low life will typically either use energy shields to protect their health or Petrified Blood if they’re not using energy shields. “LL” is commonly used to describe this type of build, which stands for “Low life”.

Low life is not possible if maximum life is set to 1 due to Chaos Inoculation, with the exception of using Coward’s Legacy, where the player may simultaneously be on low life and have Chaos Inoculation.

The low life state unlocks several interesting aspects for a character, but can be difficult to maintain efficiently.

Maintaining low life

Low life is defined as having 50% or less life remaining. This state can be achieved by reserving 50% (or more) of the player’s life pool. The problem with maintaining that amount of reserved health is whenever new gear is obtained or skill points are spend/adjust, the player could be modifying his health pool, bringing himself out of this low life state, or causing more health to be reserved than necessary.

Using gems with a flat percent of reserved mana, one can maintain precisely 65% health reserved by supporting it with reduced mana reservation nodes from the passive skill tree, Arrogance Support and maybe also Enlighten Support across several permutations.

Note: There are eight reduced mana reservation nodes — six of 4%, one of 6% and one of 8%. These nodes are additive. Combined, they give a 38% multiplier.

Important information: All combinations below result in exactly 65% life reserved. It is nearly always possible to achieve low life with different combinations, but reserve a bit more life.
