WoW Sod Hit Cap

In Season of Discovery, the hit cap depends on two factors:

1. Your class and whether you’re using melee or ranged attacks:

  • Melee:
    • Phase 1: 6% hit chance is needed to reach the soft cap for special attacks against bosses treated as your level +2 (Gnomeregan bosses).
    • Phase 2: Information not officially confirmed yet, but many sources speculate it remains at 6%.
  • Ranged:
    • Phase 1: No hit cap for ranged attacks.
    • Phase 2: Information not officially confirmed yet, but it likely remains the same.

2. Your target’s level:

  • Hit chance is needed to ensure your attacks land, with a 1% miss chance even at max hit chance.
  • For enemies of the same level, you need 3% hit chance.
  • This increases by 1% for each level your target is above you (e.g., 4% for a level +1 target).

Additional information:

  • The "soft cap" refers to the minimum hit chance needed to avoid missing special attacks against bosses of your level +2. For melee in Phase 1, this was 6%.
  • You can still miss auto-attacks even at max hit chance, but the miss chance is very low.
  • Specific classes and talents may have additional hit chance requirements or bonuses.
