PoE Enshrouding Crystals List: Effects, Drop Locations & How to Get

Enshrouding Crystals are special currency items in Path of Exile that transform Unique equipment into Enshrouded items. These items can later become Vestigial Unique items through the Domain of Timeless Conflict mechanic.

Each Enshrouding Crystal works on a specific equipment type, including helmets, gloves, boots, body armour, shields, and quivers.

1. List of All Enshrouding Crystals

The first five crystals drop from their respective Legion Generals during Legion encounters in Maps. They cannot drop inside the Domain of Timeless Conflict.

2. Afarud Enshrouding Crystal: How to Get It?

The Afarud Enshrouding Crystal is another type of Enshrouding Crystal associated with Unique Quivers.

• Stack Size: 10/10
• Effect: Enshrouds Unique Quivers
• Usage: Right-click the crystal, then left-click a Unique Quiver.
• Drop Location: Currently unconfirmed.

Unlike the five Legion Enshrouding Crystals, the Afarud Crystal’s exact drop source has not yet been verified.

Because the Afarud are associated with Mirage content, this crystal may be connected to Mirage encounters. However, this remains speculation until its acquisition method is confirmed.

3. How to Use Enshrouding Crystals

The basic process involves three steps:

1. Apply an Enshrouding Crystal: Right-click the crystal and apply it to a compatible Unique item.
2. Enter the Domain of Timeless Conflict: Place the Enshrouded item into a Crystal of Permutation.
3. Defeat Monsters: Kill enemies to charge the item, eventually transforming it into another Unique of the same item class with a Vestigial implicit modifier derived from the original item.

Continuing to charge the item can increase its Variant Rarity, improving the chance of obtaining a rarer Unique.

4. Are Enshrouding Crystals Worth Farming?

Enshrouding Crystals provide an interesting endgame crafting option because they allow players to obtain combinations of Unique equipment and modifiers that would not normally appear together.

Their value depends on the available Unique modifiers, the rarity of the resulting item, and demand for specific build combinations.

For players farming Legion content, targeting the appropriate General is the main strategy for obtaining one of the five established crystals.
