Halls of Worship -- Path of Exile

A Sanctum run contains 4 floors, each containing 8 rooms. The 8th room of each floor always contains a Boss. Players can choose to engage in a room every time they encounter the portal to the Sanctum in an area or map, or defer up to 8 rooms (1 floor) to be run consecutively at a later time. Crashing during a Sanctum room will reset progress for that room and will resume the same area on your next map. Aureus and rewards are only locked in upon successful completion of a room. Each Sanctum run is independent between characters on the same account.

All room types other than boss rooms can become Afflicted. Afflicted rooms are indicated by a purple border and cause the character to gain an Affliction on entry.

Each room contains several Guard unique monsters, as well as one of three tasks to complete the room:

  • Find the Exit (locate the exit door)
  • Defeat all the Guards (defeat every unique Guard)
  • Survive (avoid the traps)
  • Defeat the Boss (minibosses based on map bosses)

The Halls of Worship in The Forbidden Sanctum is a unique room type offering a quick escape route rather than a combat challenge. Here's what you can expect:

Layout:

  • The Halls of Worship feature a vast, open hall adorned with statues and religious imagery.
  • Several platforms with stairs are placed around the edge of the room, leading down to the next floor of the Sanctum.

Functionality:

  • Unlike most rooms in the Sanctum, the Halls of Worship lack enemies or traps. Instead, they present a fast and safe way to descend to the next floor.
  • Two main options exist:
    • Jump and Rush: In the center of the room stands a tall pillar. You can jump onto its platform and then leap across a gap to reach a platform with stairs down to the next floor. This is the fastest option, but it requires precise jumping and can be risky if you miss.
    • Safely Descending: Alternatively, you can take the stairs located on the various platforms around the edge of the room. This is a slower but safer option, especially if you're concerned about maintaining your resolve or avoiding any potential dangers.

Tips:

  • Choose your path based on your priorities. If you're low on resolve or simply want to progress quickly, the jump and rush option might be preferable. However, if you're cautious or unsure, taking the stairs is a safer choice.
  • Be aware of potential environmental hazards. While the room lacks enemies, certain floor effects or traps could be present depending on the Sanctum layout.
  • Utilize movement skills like dashes or blinks to make the jump and rush option smoother and more reliable.

Overall, the Halls of Worship offer a simple but valuable choice point in The Forbidden Sanctum. By weighing your priorities and choosing the route that best suits your playstyle and needs, you can navigate this room effectively and continue your Sanctum run with confidence.
