PoE Affliction: Mechanics and Effects
Affliction is a minion skill granted by The Selfish Shepherd that targets your own minions, causing them to take physical damage over time and granting you life regeneration. Affected minions explode when their health drops below 20%.
Key Mechanics:
Affliction: Permanently affects minions in a targeted area, causing escalating physical damage over time.
Life Regeneration: The caster regenerates life based on the Affliction’s damage.
Explosion: Minions explode below 20% life, but this cannot trigger simultaneously with Minion Instability.
Interaction with Other Skills:
Conversions from gems like Absolution or Physical to Lightning Support affect the explosion.
Inherent minion conversions (e.g., Summon Raging Spirit’s physical to fire conversion) also apply.
Advanced Tactics:
Achieving the explosion effect without triggering Minion Instability requires reducing minion life from above 50% to below 20% using items like Coruscating Elixir or Doedre’s Elixir in combination with Umbilicus Immortalis.
Affliction adds a strategic layer to minion management, allowing for powerful life regeneration and explosive damage under the right conditions.
