PoE Currency Exchange Market — Path of Exile

The Currency Exchange Market is a feature introduced in the Settlers League of Path of Exile (PoE), providing players with a convenient way to trade currencies and other valuable items. However, it is important to note that this feature is exclusive to trade-enabled (non-SSF) versions of the Settlers League and is not available in permanent leagues or the Solo Self-Found (SSF) mode.

Accessing the Currency Exchange Market

To access the Currency Exchange Market, players must interact with Faustus, the Financier, an NPC who can be found at Kingsmarch or invited to your hideout. To open the Currency Exchange interface, you can either select the Currency Exchange dialogue option or use the shortcut CTRL + left-click on Faustus.

Placing an Order

To initiate a trade, players must place an order through the Currency Exchange interface. Here’s how it works:

  1. Selecting “I Want” Items:
  • Choose the item you want to trade for (the “I Want” option) and the item you want to trade away (the “I Have” option).
  • The items available for trade include currencies, fragments, divination cards, fossils, resonators, omens, or any item that can be stored in a Currency Stash Tab flex slot.

2. Selecting “I Have” Items:

  • In the “I Have” menu, choosing your items for exchange.

3. Market Ratio:

  • Hovering over “Market Ratio” reveals the current exchange ratios and available stock for the selected trade.

4. Cost in Gold:

  • Each order requires a nominal cost in Gold, which scales based on the exchange ratio. This cost is designed to prevent excessive usage of the Currency Exchange Market during the early campaign, especially to deter bots and players not actively participating in the game. For active players, this cost is generally minimal.

5. Order Placement:

  • Once the order is placed, it is added to the Currency Exchange menu interface and can begin being fulfilled in real time. Players can have up to 10 active orders at once, shared across all leagues. Orders can be closed at any time, even if only partially filled, but any Gold spent will not be refunded.

Completing an Order

When an order is fulfilled, players receive a notification stating, “Faustus has completed one of your Currency Exchange orders.” Additionally, Faustus will display a hand and gold bag symbol, with a beam of light above his model, indicating that an order is ready to be collected.

Collecting Your Currency:

To move the exchanged currency to your inventory, you can:

  • Manually click and drop the currency into your inventory.
  • CTRL + left-click to move a full stack (Square/X on PlayStation/Xbox controllers).
  • CTRL + right-click to move as many stacks as can fit in your inventory (Hold Square/X on PlayStation/Xbox controllers).

The Currency Exchange Market in Path of Exile offers a streamlined way for players to trade valuable resources, making it easier to obtain the specific items they need to progress in the game. By using Faustus and the market interface effectively, players can optimize their trading strategies and enhance their gameplay experience.
