Strategy

Atziri is one of the most challenging bosses in the game, with her base form rivaling lower red tier maps and her enhanced version rivaling endgame bosses. Strong well rounded defenses are an absolute must, as is reflect mitigation or immunity if your build doesn’t deal indirect damage like traps/mines, minions, totems, etc.

Normal Phase

Initially, Atziri is alone. In this form, she has built-in damage reflect, making her dangerous to fight against if your build deals too much direct damage. Moreover, she reflects curses, meaning the player gets cursed as well.

Atziri can use the following attacks:

  • An arc of spears that apply bleed. The damage from bleed is not too high, unless you have no physical mitigation. This attack is much faster in the the Alluring Abyss version.
  • A single Flameblast with short channeling. This attack can easily kill characters with health around 5k or lower instantly without mitigation, and even against characters with more effective life, if it ignites you the amount of damage will be massive. This spell has 20% increased radius in the Alluring Abyss version.
  • A Chain of randomly placed Storm Calls dealing lightning damage. Each storm call is marked with an orange spell circle and explodes after 3 seconds of being placed, in quick succession. The duration of storm calls placed exceeds 3 seconds, so this means that new storm calls are cast amidst the starting chain of explosions.

She can also use these attacks at lower health:

  • Multiple randomly placed empowered Flameblast with a massive AoE radius. This spell penetrates 8% percent Fire Resistance (10% in the the Alluring Abyss version). This spell can be withstood with a large effective HP Pool and Ruby Flask + any other forms of increasing maximum fire resist. This quantity of flameblasts increases for every additional player in the instance. This skill can easily kill most characters in a single hit and should be avoided with a movement skill at all costs.
  • A Chain of randomly placed empowered Storm Calls dealing lightning damage. Each storm call is marked with a thick yellow circle and a wider thin yellow line. The thin yellow exterior line is the true radius of the spell. This spell behaves the same as the orange storm call but deals 50% more damage. This spell should be absolutely avoided and Topaz Flask may be required as a safe measure.

Add Phase

Atziri shields herself, preventing her from taking damage. She summons minions that walk towards her and heal her when they reach her. The minions will not attack the player. If the minions manage to reach Atziri, she will gain some energy shield. This is by far the safest phase and a good time for recovering flask charges.

Atziri’s energy shield will recharge while shielding. The best way keep the minions from healing her is to stand as close to Atziri as possible and use an Area of Effect skill to clear the minions as fast as possible. refilling flasks, regenerating life, recharging energy shield or to curse Atziri (don’t forget to remove the reflect).

Atziri can still draw aggression of your minions, so it’s better to avoid staying too close to her if you are a minion-based build..

Split Phase

Atziri splits into four copies of herself. This phase happens at fixed intervals: only when she loses a quarter of her life (so at 75%, 50% and 25%). If the minions heal her back to one of those life levels, she will not do this phase again. One of the four copies needs to be defeated in order to be able to damage Atziri again:

  • One holds a spear in her hand that fires a single projectile at the player; dealing bleeding damage over time.
  • One has fire on her hand and casts a single Flameblast on top of the player’s current location (Similar to first form’s single flameblast).
  • One has lightning on her hand and casts a chain of randomly placed Storm Call.
  • One has a mirror and reflects 100% of physical and elemental damage taken (see this modifier). Attacking this copy with direct damage is consequently fatal and only an option for characters that deal indirect or pure chaos damage and/or for characters that cannot take reflected damage (Slayer’s Bane of Legends, Elementalist’s Paragon of Calamity, Assassin’s Opportunistic).

The spear has very poor aim and a moderate amount of damage. As long as the bleed is under control, the skill is largely ignored. Because the flameblast is always cast on top of the player (with the same cast time and delay), it is essential for players to get used to the rhythm of each cast. Melee players, in particular, can draw out her flameblast in a random location and attack one of Atziri copies during the cast time and delay. Traps, mines, and pure chaos damage skills like Essence Drain can attack the mirror safely while keeping their distance from the other clones.
