PoE 3.25 Atlas Strategy

Path of Exile 3.25 introduces several changes to the Atlas, requiring new strategies to maximize rewards and efficiency. This guide provides a comprehensive approach to navigating the Atlas, focusing on map completion, boss farming, and leveraging Atlas Passives.

Map Completion

Completing maps efficiently is crucial. Aim to complete the entire Atlas to unlock all Voidstones, increasing map tier drops. Prioritize map tiers to ensure steady progression.

Early Strategy

  • Complete low-tier maps: Aim for 100% completion.
  • Upgrade Watchstones: Use them to elevate map tiers and sustain higher-level maps.

Mid to Late Strategy

  • Focus on specific regions: Target regions with valuable bosses and rewards.
  • Utilize Sextants: Apply them to Watchstones for additional modifiers and increased rewards.

Atlas Completion Bonus

In Path of Exile, completing maps on the Atlas under certain conditions grants players a completion bonus, which rewards them with an Atlas passive skill point. These conditions vary based on the tier of the map:

Conditions for Completion Bonus

White Maps (Tier 1–5)

  • Complete the map with magic rarity.

Yellow Maps (Tier 6–10)

  • Complete the map with rare rarity.

Red Maps (Tier 11–16)

  • Complete the map with rare rarity and have the corrupted modifier.

Benefits of Completion Bonus

Each map completed under these conditions grants an Atlas passive skill point. These skill points can be used to unlock various passive bonuses on the Atlas, enhancing your mapping experience and rewards.

How to Check Completion Bonus

Pressing “Alt” while hovering over a map item in your inventory or stash will show whether the map completion bonus has been completed. This also applies when selecting map missions from Commander Kirac, making it easy to track your progress and ensure you are meeting the conditions for each tier.

Completing your Atlas and earning these bonuses is crucial for maximizing efficiency and rewards while mapping in Path of Exile.

Voidstones

Voidstones are essential items in Path of Exile that significantly impact your Atlas progression. They are obtained by defeating specific endgame bosses: The Eater of Worlds, The Searing Exarch, The Maven, and Uber Elder. Each of these bosses drops a Voidstone upon their first defeat.

Benefits of Voidstones

  1. Map Tier Increase: Each Voidstone slotted into the Atlas increases the base tier of all maps by 4, up to a maximum of tier 16.
  2. Enhanced Map Drops: Voidstones grant a +25% chance for dropped maps to be one tier higher than the current tier.
  3. Tier 17 Map Conversion: There is a 0.4% chance for a tier 16 map drop to convert into a tier 17 map when Voidstones are used.

Obtaining Voidstones

The Eater of Worlds

  • Encounter: Engage in this boss fight to earn your first Voidstone.
  • Strategy: Learn the mechanics and dodge its high-damage abilities to succeed.

The Searing Exarch

  • Encounter: Defeat this powerful boss to obtain another Voidstone.
  • Strategy: Focus on avoiding its devastating fire-based attacks.

The Maven

  • Encounter: The Maven’s complex fight requires careful attention to her mechanics.
  • Strategy: Managing her memory game and burst phases is key to victory.

Uber Elder

  • Encounter: Uber Elder is one of the most challenging bosses in the game.
  • Strategy: Balance damage output and survivability to handle his numerous phases and powerful abilities.

Utilizing Voidstones

To maximize the benefits of Voidstones, follow these steps:

  1. Slot All Voidstones: Ensure all four Voidstones are slotted into your Atlas to elevate map tiers.
  2. Farm High-Tier Maps: Focus on farming tier 16 maps to leverage the increased chances of higher-tier map drops.
  3. Target Bosses: Engage in boss fights that can drop higher-tier maps or valuable unique items.

Divination Cards

In Path of Exile, divination cards are special items that drop from various locations and can be exchanged for rewards. These cards add an extra layer of excitement and strategy to the game by allowing players to collect sets of cards that grant specific items.

Viewing Divination Cards

The Atlas menu in PoE allows you to see which divination cards can drop from specific maps. Note that some cards only drop if the map’s tier is high enough, so progressing through higher-tier maps increases your chances of obtaining rare and valuable cards.

Scrying

Scrying is a unique mechanic introduced in tier 16 maps where players encounter the Nameless Seer. This NPC offers the option to Scry a map, which lets you override the natural divination card drops of any map on the atlas with those from the map where the Nameless Seer was found. However, a specific map cannot be in multiple swaps simultaneously. To reset a scried map to its natural drops, you can use an Orb of Scouring.

Mechanics of Scrying

  • Application: The effects of scrying are tied to the player character, not the Atlas or map. This means that the character causing the items to drop determines the pool of divination cards available.
  • Strategy: Utilize scrying to focus on farming specific divination cards by aligning the drop pool with your goals.

Divination cards offer a unique way to target specific rewards in PoE. Understanding how to view, collect, and manipulate these cards through scrying can significantly enhance your gameplay experience and efficiency in farming desired items.

Favoured Map System

The Favoured Map System in Path of Exile allows players to prioritize the maps they prefer to play, increasing their chances of obtaining these maps as drops. Players can unlock up to 12 Favoured Map Slots by fulfilling various objectives, such as defeating Conquerors of the Atlas, The Shaper, or other significant bosses.

Favoured Map Slots

Here is a list of the conditions needed to unlock each Favoured Map Slot:

  1. Complete a Tier 16 or 17 Map
  2. Defeat an Elder Guardian
  3. Defeat a Shaper Guardian
  4. Defeat a Conqueror of the Atlas
  5. Defeat Sirus, Awakener of Worlds
  6. Defeat Venarius in the Cortex
  7. Defeat The Shaper
  8. Defeat The Elder (Uber Elder version) in The Shaper’s Realm
  9. Defeat The Maven
  10. Defeat The Eater of Worlds
  11. Defeat The Searing Exarch
  12. Complete Maven’s Invitation: The Feared

Mechanics of Favoured Maps

Each time a map is marked as a Favoured Map, it receives a 10x multiplier to its drop chance when a map of that tier drops. This multiplier can stack up to 12 times for a single map, giving it a 120x multiplier. This significantly increases the likelihood of the Favoured Map dropping compared to other maps of the same tier, though it does not increase the total number of maps dropped.

Example

If a player has completed 20 Tier 16 maps and sets one map with a 120x multiplier, the system will consider the map pool as having 19 maps with a weight of 1 and one map with a weight of 120, making the Favoured Map much more likely to drop.

Atlas Keystone Interactions

  • Singular Focus: Allows players to receive only Favoured Maps.
  • Shadow Shaping: Prevents Favoured Maps from dropping.

Using these keystones, players can further refine their map farming strategy to suit their gameplay preferences.

By strategically using the Favoured Map System, players can ensure a more consistent and targeted mapping experience, maximizing their efficiency and enjoyment in Path of Exile.
