To be successful with Power Shots, players need to consider the following:

• Plenty of space around the ball carrier is usually needed, as each Power Shots requires a significant wind up.
• Aiming generally needs to be more precise, since Power Shots do not behave like default Assisted Shots and rely heavily on the player’s aim to be successful.

How do I execute a Power Shot in FC 24?

PS4 and PS5

• Classic: R1 + L1 + O + left thumbstick for aiming

Advantages and disadvantages of the Power Shot in FC 24

The Power Shot arrives in FC 24 as one more option to the rest of the shooting catalog, both in the past and in the current generation. When you execute it, the player will go through the entire animation while he sets up the shooting leg. During this period the aiming will be manual, in other words, without any help: the ball will shoot violently towards the direction in which you move the left stick of your controller.

You will know you have taken a shot when the camera zooms in on your player. Usually, these shots end in a goal, especially in one-on-one situations. Their main disadvantage is the time it takes to set up the leg. The two-second window means that an opposing defender can block the direction of the shot, or steal the ball in front of him if he is even closer to the striker.

Our recommendation? Use the power shot as a resource, not as your main shooting mechanic. You won’t always have a chance if there is no defender pressing around you. It works best in the middle of a counterattack when you can take advantage of the spaces in your favor. Something you also have to consider is that it will be much easier to score with this skill if your player has high Shot Power, Finishing, Long Shot, and Composure attributes.
