Don’t have enough time to mess around with the transfer market? No problem. If you’re looking to get rid of a player quickly for a little coin, simply select that player and see if you can Quick Sell them.
For cards that are selling well in the market, however, you’re going to want to exercise a bit of patience. Sometimes, a Team of the Week (TOTW) player card is just that. Unless they’re being utilized in specific SBCs, the lower league—or lower overall—TOTW player won’t fetch much on the market. But, odds are players can quick sell it for just over 10K coins or so.
When it comes to your average players, that will depend on their quality and rarity. Always check when you pack a player, as values will change over time.
If you have a few hours to spend on trading per week, and you want reasonably quick returns, we recommend flipping items during reward periods and Lightning Rounds. It’s basic economics: you buy stuff when it is cheap, then sell it when the price goes up.
Every Thursday morning at 07:05 UTC (08:05 BST, 09:05 CEST, 03:05 EDT, 00:05 PDT), EA releases Division Rivals rewards. Then on Sunday at 08:00 UTC (09:00 BST, 10:00 CEST, 04:00 EDT, 01:00 PDT), EA releases Squad Battles rewards. Committed players immediately tear open their rewards packs and list up their items, creating extra supply for everything from SBC fodder to meta players.
We also see the same supply increases – in fact far more so – during ‘Lightning Rounds’, which are periods when EA sells high-value packs in the store for FIFA Points during game promotions. For example, there will probably be Lightning Rounds on Black Friday, with Rare Player Packs (1000 FIFA Points), Jumbo Rare Player Packs (2000 FP) and Ultimate Packs (2500 FP) on sale at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm UK time respectively. Recent FIFAs have seen other Lightning Rounds at other times as well.
There are two ways to get in on the cut-price action during these periods. The first is to ‘snip’ cards at low prices. The second is to bid on them at low prices.
Ahead of time, identify the players you want to target and make a note of their usual price. Perhaps it’s an SBC fodder player like 87-rated Fabinho. When rewards or Lightning Rounds hit, simply search for them at lower prices than usual, and buy up any you find. Then wait a few hours for the extra supply to drain and the price to recover, and sell them on.
Bidding – or ‘mass bidding’ – can be even more effective. Wait until 59 minutes after the rewards or Lightning Rounds drop, then look up listings for your target player. You can often bid low prices on what should be more expensive cards, and the sheer volume of cards being processed means that some of those bids slip through unchallenged. It is not uncommon during particularly busy periods to win auctions for dozens of SBC fodder cards for thousands of coins less than their usual price.
You might think that Bronze and Silver Player Packs are not worth your time and money, but they are. You can get a return of 300% or more on your investment if you sell the right players. You can also find some good players in these packs that can help you win matches. Because some Squad Building Challenges will need specific Bronze or Silver Cards, making them more than 5000 FC 24 Coins in value. Investing in these packs is a good idea as you can make a lot of profit from them.
Bronze player packs are never going to excite us all that much, but taking advantage of them early can give you an adequate coin boost. The Premium Bronze Pack will cost a player 750 coins, but there is quite a bit of upside to investing in them.
Every once in a while, a Squad Building Challenge (SBC) will require very specific bronze cards. Be sure to check which ones you’ve got, and don’t be afraid to hold onto them for a while. Suddenly, you’ll find yourself turning 750 coins into a handful of thousands if you’re lucky.
As for the consumables you’ll undoubtedly get with most packs—such as kits, badges, and even stadium cards—you can just quick sell them. No matter if they’re bronze, silver, or gold, nobody’s going to be bidding high prices to take those home.
SBCs can be fun, SBCs can be infuriating; SBCs can be rewarding, SBCs can be disheartening. But before this turns into a weird nursery rhyme, know that the Squad Building Challenge can be the best way to earn coins quickly in Ultimate Team.
Additionally, there’s a sometimes-fun puzzle-solving element to it. With an all new chemistry system in FC 24, it may take a little bit of practice at first, but players are going to want to check them out regardless. If you’re looking to make bank quickly, normally you’d focus on the Hybrid SBCs. But it seems for now, rewards from these are untradeable. That’s something to keep an eye on going forward.
So, what’s a player to do instead? Keep your eyes peeled for special weekly SBCs, such as Marquee Matchups and others. Presumably, not every set of rewards will be untradeable. And if you’re able to put the pieces of the puzzle together without dipping into the transfer market too often, you’ll be rewarded all the more.
Players earn coins with every match played. The nice thing about Friendlies is that they won’t have an impact on your overall ranking regardless of whether you win or lose. That said, if you’re looking for a game mode that will give you lots of coins without having to play another human, Squad Battles is another option.
With Squad Battles, players face a randomized set of squads throughout Ultimate Team. This mode also includes the current Team of the Week as well as an overall Featured Squad. Those two are always a bit more difficult to deal with, but with this mode players are able to choose their difficulty level. The higher the difficulty, of course, the higher the reward will be if you win.
Squad Battles are weekly and depending on how many points a player racks up, they will be rewarded with a variety of packs—tradeable—as well as big bundles of coins.
Finally, Division Rivals is another match type that can see players earn big rewards. Here, players will go one-on-one with another player—and depending on how they do each week, will have their choice of tradeable or untradeable rewards. Not to mention, a good amount of coins as well.
If you want to easily get Coins, you need to play the game. You will be rewarded with Coins every time you win at the end of each match, and these can really add up over time.
With each Season Progress and Milestone achieved, you receive Coin Boosts that increase your Coin earning.
Not every objective reward will give you coins, but plenty of them will. Those that don’t typically reward a player with XP, which in turn can lead to pack rewards, then to packs—with items that can be sold for coins.
The ‘Coins Boost’ still exists, even if sporadically, and players can earn those through specific objectives throughout a FUT Season. That’s why it’s important to keep your eyes peeled on these on a regular basis. Early coin boosts are essential if you’re looking to make the most of your squad.
While Ones to Watch is no good for cheap beasts, it’s a good way to make coins in the game if you play your cards right.
These dynamic cards fluctuate hugely in price based on the player and team’s performances – and this year presumably based on their country’s, too. You can see this in the price graphs on FUT comparison sites, where a star striker will rise in price leading up to a game, then skyrocket when they score or sink without a trace when the team goes behind.
The best way to make money out of the cards is usually to buy them during neutral periods, hold them, and then sell in the hype. For example, Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez has had a slow start to life on Merseyside with two league goals in his first seven games. After a disappointing 3-3 draw against Brighton and with tough fixtures on the horizon, his OTW price – just three days after release – is hovering around 70k coins. A wily speculator might choose this ‘low’ moment to grab one, then look to sell it just before Liverpool’s next game kicks off, especially if Nunez is in the line-up. A more reckless investor might even hold it through the game in the hope he scores, but the risk is much greater.
One thing to look out for with OTW cards is when the upgrades are already ‘priced in’. Everyone knows Man City are going to win 3/8 games to get Haaland his first OTW upgrade, for example, and that is part of the reason for his astronomical in-game price. Don’t be fooled into buying players who will obviously get those three wins in the hope that they will rise when the time actually comes around. In all likelihood, that will simply lead to lots of people trying to cash in at the same time, driving the price down.
Ultimately, Ones to Watch cards are predictable in some ways and unpredictable in others. The unpredictability is what makes them fascinating, but understanding those predictable peaks and troughs – buying when they’re down, selling in the hype – is how you can reliably make coins out of them.
The gold pack is back in FC 24, and it’s important to realize how little bang for the buck players get. Each Premium Gold Pack goes for 7,500 coins and more often than not, you will not make a profit off of that. They also contain just three rare items—not guaranteed to be players.
We understand it can be tempting, but it’s more beneficial to focus on the bronze and silver packs. Flip those and hope that the profit you make can be used on better players.
Think you’re well-stocked and would like to sell off some of your less desirable cards? Welcome to the FUT transfer market, where things can get very hectic very quickly. Like we mentioned earlier, hold onto those valuable bronze (and silver) players until you believe you can sell them for 1,000-plus coins.
Additionally, attempt to buy highly-rated players that rest on the cheaper side before the market shifts and then flip them if you can. This isn’t always going to work, but it’s a nice trick to keep locked away.
