FFXIV Patch 6.2, Buried Memory, is scheduled for late August 2022.
...and more!
The next installment of “Tataru’s Grand Endeavor” will be reflecting back on the Warrior of Light’s adventures thus far, and will feature familiar faces from the Shadow of Mhach series! Completion of The Shadow of Mhach alliance raid series will be required to proceed, so this might be a good opportunity to get caught up if you haven’t already.
“Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures” will continue in Patch 6.25. Stay tuned, as our favorite Inspector appears to be traveling beyond Etheirys!
As you may have expected, a familiar face will be returning in this latest installment of weapon enhancement quests. In what sort of manner will we be enhancing our weapons this time?
The quests will begin in Patch 6.25, so those of you who’ve yet to catch up on all the Hildibrand sidequests may want to get caught up before then.
New Tribal Quest(Patch 6.25): The Omicrons. For Disciples of the Land(Gathering).
The Fell Court of Troia is the new dungeon in FFXIV 6.2.
The name of this dungeon doesn’t ring any bells; who knows where it may lie? We hope you’ll look forward to discovering its secrets and the story surrounding it as well!
We’d like to keep the new trials a secret until Patch 6.2 is released. Until then, we’ll be looking forward to seeing your predictions!
Savage raid will be released one week after Patch 6.2.
Pushing the Release of Savage by One Week:
We went over the new 8-player raids.
This time around, we’d like to make a request of our players related to the release of Savage raids. Over the past nine years or so since A Realm Reborn, we’ve solidified a pattern when it comes to releasing certain content at particular timings. From time to time, however, we’ve received requests to release Savage raids at a different timing from Normal raids. As such, we’d like to make Patch 6.2 a test case where Savage raids will be implemented one week after the patch.
While we’ve been asked to delay Savage by one week to allow players to enjoy the story first, we’ve also seen concerns that doing so would give players too much time to analyze the Normal raids in depth before competing in World First races for Savage. The Development team has simulated what might occur as a result of delaying Savage by a week, but if we were to go all out with taking countermeasures against such side effects, there’d be no going back. As such, we’d like to try the one-week delay this time, then consider feedback to decide whether to maintain the delay for future Savage releases, as well as consider possible adjustments to crafting-related and economical aspects.
We’d like to hear your opinion on this endeavor, so please let us know what you think.
The next Unreal trial will be the Sephirot encounter, re-balanced for level 90. We’ve completed the adjustments and tests for the trial, which has turned out to be quite tough. Although we did make minor adjustments to mechanics that didn’t meet our current standards for battle content, such as Earth Shakers that dealt damage based on distance, but even so you may be in for a tough time!
The Portrait feature will be receiving updates to keep your Warrior of Light looking magnificent!
A different portrait is created for each avenue of use. When previewing or editing, gear used during portrait creation is reflected instead of current gear.
You get an island, and you get an island, we all get an island!
Enjoy collecting materials and caring for animals on your very own Island Sanctuary!
Introducing Variant Dungeons: A new type of variable-difficulty dungeon set to debut in Patch 6.25!
The Duty Support system continues to expand! Group up with familiar faces while progressing through the Heavensward main scenario!
As part of the 6.x patch cycle, the FFXIV team is adding Duty Support for all the older MSQ dungeons. With Patch 6.1, all of the story-based dungeons from A Realm Reborn got the Duty Support treatment. In Patch 6.2, all the post-ARR MSQ dungeons and the first half of Heavensward story dungeons will have Duty Support. This system lets you take AI-controlled NPCs as party members into dungeons, essentially creating a single-player experience.
It was first introduced as the Trust system in Shadowbringers, but had a slight name change specifically for story purposes. Subsequent 6.x patches will cover the rest of Heavensward and all of Stormblood MSQ.
* We are planning a number of adjustments for Patch 6.2, including further changes to the rate at which the limit gauge fills for each job, as well as damage modifiers.

Brace yourself, new weapon enhancement quests are on the horizon!
Presenting the legendary… Manderville Weapons!?
Our newfound adventure continues with new main scenario quests! What buried memory will we unearth on our travels?
From the FFXIV Live Letter in February this year, Yoshida mentioned Criterion Dungeons. It’s said to be a new type of instance with variable difficulty. You’ll be able to take these on solo or with a party of up to four players. The difficulty will scale based on party size. FFXIV 6.2 will introduce the first Criterion Dungeon and more will be added in subsequent patches. We’ll probably get a preview of it during the Live Letter.
Get ready you wild freaks, we’re heading back to Lahabrea’s lair for more Pandaemonium. This is the latest eight-player raid series introduced with Endwalker in Patch 6.05. The first leg of the raid series was called Asphodelos and introduced new lore about the Ancients and Ascians. FFXIV Patch 6.2 will bring the next four raid instances, which we suspect to be called Abyssos. The Savage-level versions will come in a 6.2x patch shortly afterward.
If you haven’t done them yet, use our guides to help you clear Pandaemonium Asphodelos.
As always, you can expect Job changes with a major patch. Yoshida previously spoke about some of the things the FFXIV team intends to change. They are looking at cleaning up some Dragoon’s attack rotation — this could mean streamlining the way its weaponskills branch out in the rotation. Astrologian will also get some major adjustments since it’s a busy Job, but as an Astrologian main, I kind of like that aspect of it. We’ll have to wait for the FFXIV Live Letter on July 1 to get the specifics on these Job changes, however.
