Fallout 76 Caps Farming 2019

Bootle caps are the primary currency in Fallout 76. You can use it for buying items from other players, such as food, water, weapons, materials, etc. Moreover, there are also machines in the world that dispense items for these metal chips. You can farm Caps by selling items, doing main quests, trading with other players, looting from your enemies, killing other players through PVP combat, etc. Here are the tips for farming Bottlecaps:

(1) Completing quests

As in most of the Fallout games, the most common (and, oftentimes, the easiest) way to earn bottle caps is by doing quests. Most quests will earn you a decent amount of bottle caps alongside a bit of XP. Main Quests keep you on a steady supply of caps. As for side quests, they might not be as lucrative as the main storyline. After you have completed the quests, you will receive some caps as rewards. To maximize efficiency, try your best to complete missions based on locations, so you can quickly flit from one to the other without much travel, or even complete two quests at the same time!

(2) Killing other players through PvP combat

Bottlecaps can be earned by killing other player characters through player versus player combat, revenge, or bounties. Killing a player character who hadn’t attacked back will remove caps to pay for a bounty on the killer, which other characters can collect. Status debuffs will replace bottlecaps if the killer doesn’t have enough.

(3) Save and earn more with Perk Cards

Look for Luck perk cards that increase the amount of Caps you’ll find when looting. Cards in Fallout 76 give you gameplay bonuses. If you can find them, they offer significant advantages in almost all facets of survival. That includes increasing the number of bottle caps you can earn and save.

  • Fortune Finder: This one plays an audible sound when you’re in range of a Caps Stash. The audio is directional to help lead you to it.
  • Travel Agent: You get a 30% discount on fast traveling. It’s not a perk that helps you earn caps faster, but savings will keep you from depleting your current stash faster.
  • Cap Collector: When you open a cap stash, this perk gives you a chance to find more bottle caps. Improving this perk card up to level 3 for greater chances.
  • Hard Bargain: Vendors will sell you goods for cheaper, and buy your goods for more caps. This perk can be increased up to level 3.

You’ll also get a Perk Pack every two levels up to level 10, and then once every 5 levels after that. Each Perk Pack comes with an assortment of different perk cards. And don’t worry about being locked into specific ones as they can be swapped at your leisure.

(4) Trade items for Caps

By selling your various goods and service to other players in game. It’s the same concept as trading to a vendor, only not as predictable, because players can dictate goods and prices.

(5) Looting your enemies

Enemies in Fallout 76 may have bottle caps on their persons, and if you kill them, all those caps are yours! So unless you have a really good reason and you’re capable and able, take on that extra fight or two to increase your stash.

(6) Caps Earning Exploit

Currently, there is an exploit in the game that lets you farm lots of fast fallout 76 bottle caps. It has the potential to earn 2000+ Caps in an hour with little effort. The output of the Caps generation will increase significantly with a higher level of Charisma. If you have a hard Bargain Card, you can potentially earn close to 3000+ caps in an hour using this method.

(7) Kill Super Mutants

Any Super Mutant strongholds and towns are fantastic for earning caps fast. Super Mutants always carry a little stash of caps on them, so eliminating a whole bunch of them can really fill your pockets.

Super Mutant strongholds have high spawn rates and legendary enemies which grant you some powerful loot. Once you’ve cleared an area, hop to another server and repeat the process. By the time you’ve done it a few times, you’ll have netted a good number of caps as well as ammo and more.

There’s a Super Mutant town east of Camp McClintock and another great spot lies in the Eastern Regional Penitentiary.

(8) Mothman Egg Farming

Head on over to Mothman Museum Area and look around for Mothman’s eggs. You’ll find them scattered around the area in black and red clumps. Go ahead and stick as many as you can, before loading into a new server and collecting even more. Once you can’t carry any more eggs, sell them to vendors for a nice cap injection.

(9) Farming Cap Stashes

This is the most efficient way to get many caps in Fallout 76. Cap Stashes can be found anywhere and usually are locked in places where your eyes will not suspect. They are hidden in the game, so if you can find one of them, you can explore some of the value things. The following is the caps stash location list.

Fallout 76 Caps Stash Locations

A caps stash is a one-time use tin full of bottle caps. A blue tin full of bottlecaps. It is not an item that can be placed in the inventory, but rather like a bobby pin box in that it adds a random amount of bottlecaps. In Fallout 76, there is a chance that this number can go over 100 in rare caps stashes that play an animation when they are found.

Fallout 76 Caps Stash

Although the contents of caps stashes in Fallout 76 are instanced, the stashes themselves are not guaranteed spawns and may not spawn in the world that the player character is in. Changing server will affect caps stash spawns.

The Cap Collector perk and Bobblehead: Caps increase the chances of finding more bottle caps when opening a cap stash in Fallout 76. The Fortune Finder perk also makes it easier to find caps stashes by providing an audio cue when one is approached.

Prior to Fallout 76 patch 1.0.5.10, caps stashes were instanced server-wide and only obtainable by the first player to discover it, which tended to cause players to intentionally server-hop to collect large numbers of freshly respawned stashes. Since the patch, caps stashes have become containers instanced per-player, allowing multiple players to collect from the same caps stash, eliminating most of the benefit of server-hopping.
