Diablo 4 Season 2(Season of Blood) will begin on October 17.

Season 2 Changes

At the behest of their dark master, a newly turned army of ravenous vampires has set their sights on Sanctuary. The master’s sinister plot remains a shrouded mystery but their pursuit for the blood of innocents has caused an uproar. You must learn to hunt the hunter—your fate depends on it.

Season of Blood will introduce a new Questline for you to uncover, Vampiric Powers to wield against their originators, 5 additional endgame bosses with the ability to target specific Unique and Uber Unique items as a drop, and more.

Vampiric Powers to wield against their originators.

Erys, a vampire hunter who stalks these blood leeches throughout Sanctuary, voiced by actress and producer Gemma Chan.

3. Five New Endgame Bosses

5 additional endgame bosses with the ability to target specific Unique and Uber Unique items as a drop.

  • New & returning foes for additional endgame challenges
  • Batter target farming of uniques & uber uniques

4. Renown Rewards

  • Rewards will carry over when completed on any prior character beyond Altars of Lilith and Map Discovery.
  • Includes: potion charges, skill points, obol cap upgrades, and paragon points.

5. Season 2 Quality of Life Changes

Additionally, we will introduce some community-requested quality-of-life updates with Season of Blood:

  • More efficient Inventory management for Gems.
  • Paragon Points, Skill Points, Potion Charges, and Obol capacity upgrades will now carry over into a new Season once achieved with an Eternal or previous Seasonal Realm character.
  • Changes to the functionality of status effects such as Vulnerable, Overpower, Critical Strike Damage and also Elemental Resistances.

The updates in the above bullet and the ability to target specific Unique and Ultra Unique items as a drop will be available in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms.

6. Gem Changes

  • Gems no longer take up inventory space.
  • More efficient Inventory management for Gems.

7. Stash Changes

  • Stash can be searched and filtered.

8. Status Effects Change

  • Updated elemental resistances systems.
  • Vulnerable, overpower, and critical strike damage updates.

October 4: Developer Updates livestream

Our next Developer Updates livestream arrives on October 4 at 11 a.m. PDT. It dives into the looming Season of Blood, and many details on the quality-of-life updates first announced at Gamescom: Opening Night Live 2023.

Join members of the development team along with associate director of community Adam Fletcher, who will unveil the vampiric scourge that has descended on Sanctuary and the sinister power they possess. Learn what it will take to fight against this rising tide of evil and harness the power of their potent blood for your own means.

The Developer Update livestream also details many quality-of-life updates arriving throughout Season 2. The team will talk about community requested features such as additional Stash space and functionality, improvements to Dungeons, Mounts, and much more. We’ll also hold a segment at the end of the stream for players to field their questions directly to the team.

On October 10, we’re having a Campfire Chat that will feature a deep dive on upcoming class balance changes and re-works to several in-game systems.
