Cameria's Maul was created by supporter RichMoney (RichJMoney).

The name "Cameria's Maul" is a word play on Mall of America, a famous tourist attraction located in RichMoney's home state of Minnesota. RichMoney stated that he wanted to create a unique weapon with the Gavel base type as a "troll" or prank, so that when an unidentified unique Gavel drops, some players will be disappointed when they see that it is Cameria's Maul instead of Mjölner. Because of this, Cameria's Maul is sometimes called "Trollner".
