Fortuitous Feud challenge: Defeat any three of the following bosses in the specified ways.
Aul, the Crystal King is a boss that can only appear inside The Crystal King's Throne nodes within the Primeval Ruins biome, inside The Azurite Mine in Delve, at a depth of 130 or greater.
Primeval Chamber is a type of delve node that spawns in Primeval Ruins. It is similar to Ruined Chambers of Vaal Outpost delve nodes with light pads that need to be stood on for a few seconds to clear the monsters. It appears to be a great place to obtain maps due to the possibility for Abandoned Charts chests and can contain 3 or more of these chests in the area. This area contains the six linked sockets Crafting Bench recipe.
The node name is “The Crystal King’s Throne” with a wolf-like icon.
This boss fight contains 8 Crystalline Cocoons around the arena. These cocoons will open and shoot homing projectiles if the player is near. During Aul’s throne phase, the Spectral Shield Charge can destroy the cocoons if they explode near them. At some point during this fight, Aul will clap his hands together, create Darkness, and spawn minions. In order to avoid the Darkness from stacking up, the player can either strategically use flares or hug the small flares that drop from some of the minions.
Spectral Shield Charge: Aul retreats upon his crystal throne in the center of the arena and fires a total of 6 spectral copies of himself. These clones shield charge towards the player with exploding steps and then explode on impact. The clones are fired one at a time in a slow rate of succession. The base duration for this attack is 10 seconds and deals 75% Cold Damage and 25% Physical Damage. These clones can open the Crystalline Cocoons by damaging them, but will trigger the Crystalline Barrage attack.

Spectral Shield Charge | Otemba! - Aul shields himself in the center of the arena and makes himself untargetable and invulnerable. He launches several spectral Shield Charge proxies in a sequence toward the player, leaving crystal trails that deal damage and block movement. If the copies hit the Crystalline Cocoons at the edges of the area, the Cocoons will burst and leave a permanent pool of cold damage over time, and spawn an Azurite monster that fires projectiles when you are nearby. | Base duration is 10 seconds. Cooldown Time: 40 Seconds. Projectiles Pierce all Targets. Use blink skills to travel between the gaps between Crystalline Cocoons. |
Crystalline Arc | Aul encases his weapon with crystals before doing a Cleave attack. He creates 11-15 ice crystals in the arc of his swing. At the end of his swing, the projectiles fly out in a 180 to 270 degree arc. | 75% of Physical Damage Converted to Cold Damage, can be avoided by staying behind Aul during the aniamtion. |
Crystal Nova | Zem Zamarr! - Aul charges his sword before plunging it into the ground. Several markers will show on the floor in an area around him. Shortly after, Aul will fire a rippling nova, causing crystal spikes to emerge from the markers, dealing heavy damage. | 75% of Physical Damage Converted to Cold Damage. Throwing Dynamite mid-animation will stun him, interrupting the attack. |
Crystalline Fissure | Aul thrusts his sword forwards with a Tectonic Slam-style attack, creating a number of crystal fissures that move throughout the arena. At the end of their duration, or if they hit a player, they will explode creating a giant crystal spike. | 75% of Physical Damage Converted to Cold Damage. |

Crystalline Barrage / Bullet Hell | Hur-nak! - If more than 4 Crystalline Cocoons are broken, Aul will encase himself in crystals and being firing a continuous barrage of Ice Spears for a duration, tracking the player. Any broken Crystalline Cocoons will also fire a constant barrage of ice projectiles toward Aul. | Throwing Dynamite mid-animation will stun him, interrupting the attack. |
